Solve problems from a photo
Take a photo of a problem from a textbook or notebook. Vexic reads it, solves it step by step and explains why the solution works.
Works in the browser on your computer and phone.
How it works
- Attach a photo or a screenshot of the problem. You can also type it in.
- Vexic reads the problem, solves it and shows the steps.
- If something is unclear, ask: it will explain the step in more detail or another way.
Why the answer is more reliable
AI models often slip in arithmetic. Vexic runs code for calculations, so the numbers in the answer are computed, not guessed. Still check the solution: with a poor photo or a hard problem a mistake is possible.
Photos need a model that understands images: GPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok models. See the list on the models page.
Which subjects
Math, algebra, geometry, physics, chemistry, computer science, economics, statistics. You can also ask for similar problems to practice on.
Working through a problem from a photo
What to attach or specify. A photo of the whole problem, with no cut-off lines, figures or units. Take it in good light.
Sample request
Read the problem in the photo and first write it out as text. If a symbol is unclear, ask about it. Then solve the problem step by step, explain why you chose the formula and check the answer by substitution. At the end, suggest a similar problem without the solution.
A sample for illustration. The data and design are made up; the result depends on your request and the model you choose.
What you should get
The recognized problem, a step-by-step solution and an answer check. For example: from 3x + 7 = 22 we get x = 5; substitution gives 3 × 5 + 7 = 22.
How to check the result
First check the recognized numbers, signs and units. If the answer is right, try to solve the suggested similar problem on your own.
Frequently asked questions
Does Vexic give just the answer or the solution?
A step-by-step solution with an explanation. You can set the format: short, detailed, or as for a school student.
Does it read handwriting?
Legible handwriting, yes. If part of the problem is read wrong, correct it in text.
Can I use Vexic for free?
Yes. After you sign in, the free plan gives you GPT-6 Luna and Claude Haiku 5.5 with a small limit. The other models are available on paid plans.
Can the AI make mistakes?
Yes. Any model can give an inaccurate or made-up answer. Check important numbers and facts against the sources: Vexic shows links to the pages it took the information from.
